It has been used since antiquity to dye skin, hair and fingernails. It is a natural pigment whose allergic actions are very rare and the application is quite simple. Henna strengthens the hair and gives it shine since its molecules have a chemical affinity with the hair molecules and thus the pigments pass freely into the hair. Henna also makes your hair strands stronger, reduces dandruff, thickens hair, reduces hair fall and smoothens the hair cuticles.

Side Effects: It is dangerous for people with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency which is more common in males than females. Some henna pastes contain carmine, silver nitrate, etc that can cause allergic reactions.
